I have been recently trying out Hylamide’s High-Efficiency Face Cleaner. I have had mixed luck on Deciem’s products. I am happy to say this one actually worked for me. I purchased this from my new favourite shop – Socialite Beauty
It is said to works like an oil cleaner but acts like a water-based one and rinses off effectively. I would say that is very true. I have been religiously using Fresh’s cleansing oil (review here). This formula contains a blend of oils and esters to remove makeup effectively. It cuts through makeup and sunscreen awesomely. It is said to leave an innocuous layer of comfortable, non-comedogenic hydration. It does feel like my skin feels clean and comfortable after using. It isn’t dry or tight at all. I like that it rinses off without the use of a cloth or mitt or toner. This is definitely a thinner more watery formulation. I do find I need to work a little harder on my eye makeup with this one versus the Fresh formula.
The small issue I have with this product is the smell. To me it smells like Cheez-it crackers. It is a bit disconcerting to be rubbing on something that smells like oily crackers. Luckily the smell rinses off very quickly.
As I said I have had mixed success with Deciem but what I really like about this company is the novel products and decent price point. This cleanser is $21 which makes it a solid option for me as a back up to my Fresh cleansing oil.
If you like cleansing oils and are looking for something that is one step to cleanse and remove makeup than I would definitely recommend trying this cleanser out.
