I have been meaning to get around to actually sharing some thoughts on The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%, so no time like the present!
So this is the third product I have tried from the The Ordinary line. I love what this line is about. Technical skincare for insanely low prices. Count me in. Cue Advanced Retinoid 2%.
The product is said to contain two forms of retinoid which will avoid the irritation associated with retinoid use while delivering better visible results against signs of ageing. I haven’t had a ton of luck finding a off the shelf retinoid that I really felt made much difference at all. The closest I have come is Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Repair. Which I have liked because I feel there is some efficacy and it provides moisture as well.
Anyway, on to the Ordinary. This formula is light and very fluid. It kind of reminds me of the liquid penicillin that tastes like banana that I used to have as a kid. It spreads quite easily on the skin and glides over so you don’t need to much. I have applying my Biotherm Skin Best serum in cream first to clean skin then applying this retinoid. I wait a couple of minutes then add my night cream.
This formula has not created any irritation whatsoever and kind of layered in between two moisture products it has not dried out my skin at all. I do love how light it feels when applied. I have been noticing a little glow and even tone to my skin since using this. It certainly hasn’t made any dramatic changes to my skin but it keeps it looking pretty good. I am very happy with it as a retinoid so far. The price is really hard to beat as it is even more affordable than Neutrogena or other drugstore brands. I am really intrigued with all things Deciem make. There are certainly been a lot of hits and a lot of misses. I would consider this one at hit!!
I bought this from Socialite Beauty which I continue to buy from as it is a great site for niche brands.
